Ok I thought these were the ones you and him had mentioned. I think I have some of those but not the ones with the metal lugs...I was just looking at some translucent mags, was bouncing around on AOA looking at the $20 Hungarian tankers and saw these again... @CQB27 made the naughty list...

Nice one! I had made mention of officer's models earlier...great for concealment but sometimes are picky on ammo and need some tuning/tweaking...

I owned a CBOB for all of 4 hours, I got it to trade to my buddy...he swapped me a Colt 4" King Cobra lnib for it. That CBOB was freaking nice. I forgot all about it until you mentioned it. I traded a Custom Shop Smith 629 for it, 1/300 I think it was, from 1995.

Your Kimber officer probably wasn't picky bc it was a Kimber. Officer 1911s are known to be finicky. I've had 3. The V10, a Para Expert Carry, and the ECO. The ECO was the only one to run right, 100 percent. I did have a Kimber Tactical Ultra but I can't comment on it since I never shot it...

I traded it to my brother and then I wasn't in a position to buy it back when he needed to sell it. He changed a few things on it and then put it back stock when he pawned it at Howard's.

I hunted that BiTone for a good minute before I found one. Apparently SA makes a run of a few models and then stops production to make a different run of others. The BiTone never came back into production but they're awesome when you find a nice one.

It absolutely is internet hype. Some Kimbers may have issues, same as any other brand X Y Z. I do know the Kimpro finish is awful so I just stay away from those. And I'm not paying $2K for a Kimber, at that price I'm going Ed Brown, Nighthawk, Baer, etc.

Not me. I rotate through reasonably priced Kimbers and the like. ~$700 and never had a problem.
