Not sure on that one. Our minimum retirement age is 59 1/2 with benefits. Earlier if they offer an "Early Out" with reduced benefits. But that age would still be 55 or so...

Pay is decent/good/great depending on how high up the food chain you can climb. Benefits are outstanding. Again, talking about Federal .Gov jobs. Metropolitan areas like Dobbins, I'm assuming would get locality pay to help compensate for the higher cost of living? Cost of living in my area...

She's probably under CSRS. Didn't realize we had .Gov teachers. Either way, that system was phased out long ago. She's one of the lucky ones to still have it.

CSRS is 85% pension but they can't draw SS. And only a few employees are still under that system. FERS is nowhere near 85%.

Which .Gov jobs have close to 100% pensions? Most are either CSRS which was phased out years ago so only old heads are under that system, the new system is FERS and then you have other entities that have something different entirely, FBI I think and the like, Air Traffic Controllers, and some...
