That's kinda what I did to my first SKS - Tapco stock and 20rnd mags/mag release, nothing permanent, saved all of the OG stuff to return it to factory if I ever want to.

Yeah, I put TechSights on the rear of both of my SKSs. True it makes it a lot harder to disassemble (gotta have a screwdriver, and look out for non-captive small parts), but that rear sight is just SO much better in actual use.

Glad y'all like it! IIRC that's a carbine gas system, only one I ever built that way. Second build I did. Can't remember if I put an upgraded buffer in it or a smaller gas port, or neither. I did build it to be light, and I like to think the carbon fiber HG helps, but I bet it's no lighter...
