They're easy to put on usually. But they're made to lock on KAC rails.

Army qualifies out to 300Y with 5.56. Marines qualify out to 500Y. Not sure the lethality of the round at those distances but I wouldn't want to get hit with it. Shooting anything at that distance is going to be more heavily reliant on the operator and the equipment and less on the caliber...
