Yes, they're AR mags, and I looked them over very carefully - they're mostly garbage. 4/6 have slight cracks at the back side of the feed lips, another has a chunk popping off the top center of the feed lips, but the 6th hasn't cracked...YET. I should've done some research. A quick internet...

Well, part of it is function, if you’re talking about the sights, and about the disassembly. I’m guessing Gen2 might be slightly more reliable, or they wouldn’t have bothered redesigning it.
