My last helicopter flight was 30 may 2001 (Bell 412). I miss it badly. But I chose quality of life over enjoyment of flying. I’ve also been to a lot of funerals over the years for lost friends. All but 2 were in helicopters. The other two were helicopter guys flying a j3 cub in the mountains.

And the Army was supposed to get the C27 to replace the C23. It was a plane that could actually do a good mission. But the Air Force felt that was encroaching on their territory so they put up a big shit storm,got the aircraft for themselves and killed the program. All it did was fuck the guys...

You nailed it. I flew A’s, C’s and A+ (A with the C engine) always wanted to fly the D But ended up in the 64A for a while. While the 64 would fly circles around the 58D, it shouldn’t be to a scout mission.
