    Way I see it is if the boog happens, I have a family with young kids, so speed isnt happening. However, I'd prefer to keep distance and the ability to punch through most object with enough energy left over for social work. The AR is purely for home defense purposes.

    5.56 is better...but I'm not convinced the benefits outweigh the boredom. I could stack some 5.45 deep. It will likely stop being imported in the next 3 presidencies....but man. In 15 years I think I'd rather have an SGL 31 or 2 and a couple nice FALs than a closet full of ARs.

    They are pretty freaking awesome. Imagine a 22 mag in an AK and that's about what recoil feels like.

    I'm still thinking about just keeping this SGL, selling the BCM, and becoming a 5.45 whore. That way I'm on both ends of the spectrum, 5.45 and 308 as my go to rifles.
