This stuff looks synthetic to me. I don't think it's crushed shells...it has an oil/buffing component to it. Makes the garage floor have a nice sheen to it without being slippery.

Dang man! That is a hell of an offer! My shop teacher just left, it was the cap. $150 parts and labor, I ain't complaining especially being today is Sunday. If it had happened yesterday when the shop was open, I could have done it myself for less than $50. Sure beats $4200 for a new unit...

The cap starts the fan and the compressor btw, and the fan requires less power to start...

Fan runs. Compressor isn't running but I can hear it trying to start. No hot air discharge, no condensate from the drain, and both suction and discharge lines on the lineset are ambient temperature.
