Just to be honist I have both 223/556 and 7.62x39 in mass quainty and I still go to my AR platform for home defense. Not because 556/223 is better than 7.62x39 but because I can get a Reliable AR for 400.00 and if it needs to be taken after a home invasion by the cops I am not out a ton of money...

No need to talk you into or out of. Both have there Place in your Home. 1. 223/556 good for Ranges up to 150/200 yards (I know the internet snipers can use these out to 1 mile just saying) 2. 223/556 is great in a pistol form and can be wielded well in close places 3. .308 Good out to 200/500...

.308 is harder hitting at distance than .223 Nuff Said
