    If SCAR 16 was within $200 of a good AR I'd pick the SCAR. As it stands, I'd rather have a KAC and a beater CHF PSA for the same SCAR money.

    I totally get the subjective worth thing. SCAR 17 is better than a FAL. But, the 3 FALs I have now cost me less that the new price of a SCAR 17, and the SCAR 17 isnt 3 times the gun.

    The biggest I've felt was with PTRs. PTRs are heavy bishes to begin with, but that A3 para I had had a heavy barrel and while on the scales it was the same weight as a 21" FAL it felt 3 times as heavy

    In general I prefer thinner profile barrels. Amazing how much the weight of a barrel changes the feel of a gun

    I had a SCAR 17. I liked it...but even back then when you could get them for $2800 new and I got mine for $2200 I kinda didnt think it was worth it. If SCAR 16s are really $2600 now that has just completely jumped the shark

    In general their has been a big uptick is gun prices. I guess that's a reflection of inflation.. But between a $2,000+ bren and a $1,700 galil or Tavor 7, I'd opt for the galil or tavor.

    Are you? At $2k that Bren 2 is just way over priced. Their allure was being a cheap SCAR...but $2k ain't cheap. $1500 all day

    No I meant the plastic lower. On the 30i version the plastic lower houses the mag catch since it takes AR mags. If there was a way to convert to OG 308 galil mags I'd prefer that...if OG galil 308 mags werent fuck nuts expensive
