I'm limbing some crepe myrtles that have been allowed to become overgrown the last 15 years. I should have bought a 200 series Stihl with an 18" bar but I didn't want to spend $400

Ya know, if the pieces are at least 2" diameter, that some great turning wood after it dies for about 6 months.

Edit- if it doesn't split into tiny pieces when drying.

I've got sections that the diameter is the same as the length of your hand. If you want some, I have to cut the limbs into sections tomorrow. I think I overheated that saw and it would idle but wouldn't rev up and stay running

If you want to save a few 12" long pieces, I'll stop by and get them (eventually when I'm over there). I'll make you something neat with one of them. The wood is supposed to be pink/teal/tan when you turn it.

I've never had any to use before, but I've seen finished pieces.

Yep. I came close to introducing my ms290 to a sledgehammer. You shouldn’t have to pull the cord a hundred fucking times to get it started.
Will never buy anther stihl product ever.
You buy a pro model and it will work fine for years if you use non ethanol gas and good synthetic oil for the mix.
All of the major chainsaw manufacturers have shit level and good level options. If you have a certain budget you can always get a used quality model over new junk.

Deal! I've cut down so much of this stuff in the past, I could have saved a bunch up already! I've always been impressed with how hard this wood is everytime I cut it. Very solid!

I use only non ethanol gas.
And $500 should be a pro level saw.
I have several echo products that I let sit all winter with gas in the tank, have never changed a plug, have never done anything. All will start in 4 pulls or less.
Fuck Stihl
