that being said it worked pretty good even though toe poppers are low signature because it uses noise or sound something.

mostly it came to moving very carefully, choosing to silhouette yourself on the top walls over the vineyards exposed to small arms fire as opposed to hopping down in them and moving through areas more likely to have emplacement.

look for the absolute most pain the ass route to take going where you want to go and take that, never take the easy way, or the trail, or the hole/break in the wall. Avoid places that are good cover, avoid soft earth of any type, don’t get baited, avoid dog legs in the road etc. if you would put an IED there they probably put an IED there.

also other methods were used (hypothetically) like “convincing” the local owner of said field to escort you through his field in a single file line and step in every foot print he put in front of you no deviation.

still lost 1 Air Force EOD guy attached to my COP to a literal Russian toe popper. And the area was cleared by him when he stepped on it moving back down
