Finally picked up a 457. Im looking at the vortex diamondback tactical ffp 6-24 ebr-2c on probably the area 419 rail. Any reason I shouldnt go this way, or should I look at anything else?
Anyone have a decent optic for sale/trade that would do well on this setup?
Nothing wrong with that setup. The Area419 rails are great. I have several on various rifles from tikka, Cz, and remington.

The Vortex is good, within its price range. In time, you may want to upgrade, but I wouldn't worry about it. I have one on a 10/22 that I have run fairly hard out to 500 and everything in between with a lot of dialing. Still holds true tracking. Glass is nothing special, but certainly usable at 22lr ranges. Can struggle with targets in shade.

Mainly looking for a relatively inexpensive FFP optic with a more advanced reticle than a duplex. Mostly using the rifle for fun and to learn “long range” style shooting and using an optic and reticle properly.

That’s what I’m running on mine. I’ve been well pleased. It’s came a long way since you’ve seen it last. You’re welcome to try it anytime. A6236BF7-C676-42EE-9633-37317615864A.jpeg

Once mine is all set up we will have to get out on the range again. That was a great time
Absolutely man! I found a new place on the farm we can get 22lr (suppressed due to the animals) out to over 200. We’ll get some steel and stretch them out! You in @ReservoirDawg10?

Yeah, @chance , I forgot about this deal. I bought one of these for my Valkyrie. About the same cash as the DBT.

Thats a nice optic, just more than I need to spend on a 22. The DBT was an option cause I found one for well under 400
I like my DBT as well. Definitely a thumbs up from me.
