The rest of that rifle is a bad mamba jamba. With all the AR parts I really don’t care about the stripped lower whatsoever. As long as it’s in spec that’s all that matters.
I am just thinking out loud, but have you ever personally ran any of the above mentioned uppers?

Yeah. Sota and aero. Sold you my aero lol.
Still haven't shot that one yet. There are some decent cheap uppers that I have ran. Hardened arms being one of them, they even have quality customer service.

It shoots great. Loves federal 55gr poly tipped, the cheapos.

Sota complete lowers, Primary Arms complete uppers and Aero stripped uppers. All have run well with no issues.

I am a fan of SOTA arms. I’ve used two barrels and one complete upper from them with no issues. The finish is very basic but they run well.

I still think PSA makes a decent budget upper if you can find one in your desired spec and catch it on sale.

I would stay away from Bear Creek / Moore Machine. Had one of their barrels five or six years ago and it was a mess. Plenty of horror stories out there if you google.

Have no experience with Hardened Arms.

Hard to beat Ballistic Advantage for s budget. Aero uses a lot of their barrels, so would give a go to them as well.

By the way, what is your definition of "budget?"

I have 300 blackout and 7.62x39 uppers by Hardened Arms and both function just fine.
