Picked up one on trade and was wondering if y’all have done one yet. Taking my time and not cutting corners is key I guess.

I have used several jigs and own a Milling machine.
The easiest jig I have found so far is this one AR15/AR9/AR80:
https://www.80percentarms.com/products/easy-jig-gen-2-combined-ar-15-and-308-jig

They also make this one just for AR15/AR9 Only here:
https://www.80percentarms.com/collections/lower-jigs/products/easy-jig-gen-2-80-lower-jig

These Jigs you only Drill one hole to start the milling then when done drill holes in side and you have an AR ready for action.

Here is mine ready for action:
I used a DEWALT DWP611 1.25 HP Max Torque Variable Speed Compact Router to do my 80% lowers.
Just take your time and go slow.

If you have any Questions Just ask a I have built 80% AK's, AR's, 1911's, Glock's etc.

The ones that turn out the best so far are with The Router or my milling machine.
I like the router so far (believe it or not) as I do not have to measure anything it is all done for you just follow the steps.

If I got one in a trade, I would give it a go for shits and giggles. But, stripped lowers are cheap and In GA, I really don't see the need to have one other than if you just like tinkering and the process.

I'm still wanting to do one also. I want to do a 1911. I swear I have too many wants and too little money.

This is a 1911 I am Currently working on.
I cut the Rails and Drilled the Holes.
Hope to have done by Fall of this year.
I work real slow on these and hand fit all parts slowly.

That’s awesome! Thanks for the tips. I maybe hitting you up for info. I have access to a milling machine but also have a router. Need to find some cutting bits. Maybe order them online.
