Might be a little more acceptable in .22 mag for the some. It reminds me of the zip guns and is really a better concept than a pen gun. I would rather have this than a knife as I would not have to risk physical contact. Loaded with CCI stinger or hollow point and it will do enough damage to keep someone off you long enough to get away. Unfolding it would not be much different than opening a knife if you did not have OTF. Since they do not completely describe detail or show video it is hard to say.
I can see this as something you could carry into places with signs against guns. It would stop someone long enough to get to your CCW which is what is intended for. It may also save your ass if you are relieved of your CCW. The price point will definitely hurt against a true derringer but I doubt someone frisking you would find it unless they knew what they were specifically looking for.
