my latest wood project was for my dad for fathers day. It's to be hung on a wall and conceal a handgun.

There are holes drilled through it in a reinforced area to scream it into a stud so it's mounted solid. I put magnets under the. Felt in the back to hold the gun in place. We painted the front of it but I didn't get a picture of that part. He really seemed to like it.

It's not much and it has its flaws but it's the most ambitious and nicest thing I have built so far.

I used dowels to help hold the joints in place and I have really enjoyed getting the hang of building things without having to use any screws or nails to hold it together. The piece of the side that slides out is separate from the rest of the side so that there isn't too much weight when it's open and to keep the box sturdy without the front on it.

I seen a really cool one the other day. It was a night stand and you twist they knob and the drawer separates to allow access to the concealment.

Yours look really good though. Congrats on the build.

I parked a few blocks away today and needed a way to get my Shield from my home to my car. I didn't feel like shoving it in my pants. I just put it in this old school Beatles lunch box. I've been using that as a concealed box since.

Very cool. That's still past my skill level but one day I'm going to do something like that

I would say that it has little to do with skill level and more to do with tools... Dang near everything on that table just involved pushing wood in a straight line along a tool's fence.

Table saw, shaper table, and a few hand tools.
