Edit* Range groups for different Ammo tested is posted starting on page 10. Post #97 in this thread.

Well, it's official! I have a CZ 455 Precision Trainer on the way. Here's a couple shout outs. @ReservoirDawg10 talked me into it. @deguns.net was kind enough to order one in for me. @DoglegArms was good enough to allow me to ship it to his FFL. A big Thanks goes out to all of y'all! I just received the confirmation of shipping email. I know this is a little more expensive than most want to pay on a bolt action 22 long rifle, so I'm going to update the process as it unfolds and try to give a good in-depth review. Next month I'm planning on going out to the CMP range and I'm going to see how it performs at longer ranges. I'll let everyone know if it was worth the extra couple hundred bucks for the Manners stock upgrade. In the meantime I will post Factory picture of the rifle I ordered. Stay tuned!

Update 3/11/17

I picked up my rifle today. It actually arrived Thursday. Pretty much 3 days. Super fast shipping. Thanks again DEguns! Finally got to meet Dogleg as well. I will eventually be getting a suppressor from him. Very impressed. Great guy.

First impression, this thing is a beast. Although it's no where near as heavy as I was expecting. It feels great in the hands. The Manners stock definitely impresses. Good solid base, nice wide flat forend for a stable rest on bags, full palm swell feels great, and the butt pad is soft enough I where it will really form nicely to the shoulder when you load the bipod. The trigger as it sits isn't terrible, much better than a lot I've had. It breaks nicely at 2.75 lbs. This is from factory as it sits. No adjustment at all. IMG_20170318_131150.jpg I've topped it with a nice Nikon 6.5-20x44 I bought off a trader from another site. Shout out to him. I hope he decides to join us soon. Great guy. Just a cheap Blackhawk! Bipod for the moment.

And now for the best part.... Pics!!!!! IMG_20170311_175750129.jpg IMG_20170311_175819023.jpg IMG_20170311_175416035.jpg IMG_20170311_173459149.jpg

That's bad to the bone man. Yeah, the stock was worth it...heck I'd probably even glass bed it since it's going to be an accuracy machine.

I seriously contemplated it. But I think I'm going to keep it the way it is. As it sits I can get a 22 Mag or 17 HMR Barrel and swap it out. I think it might be pretty cool to have one of these in a 22 Mag. I would go with a 17, but I already have a heavy barreled HMR. Also, I'm planning on down the road investing in a Lilja Barrel. Then we'll really be talking about accurate!

Honestly, those CZ barrels are so good I don't think I'd go the Lilja route. The barrel isn't the weakest link with those rifles..the ammo is. I think it'll shoot great in the "stock" configuration.

Yeah, I've been reading a lot of reviews and it's amazing what those barrels are capable of. Even for the cheaper just standard 455. They are tack drivers. I'm going to do the best of my ability to push it to the Limit and see what it's capable of. I know the rifle will outperform me though! I will be the weakest link. Lol

Love it man. Makes me jealous. Don't let anyone bitch about the price. Under $1k for a quality rifle, no matter the caliber, is great. Especially for the vast majority of gun owners who shoot the hell outta 22.

That's what I've always said. I'd rather spend that much on a 22lr vs a centerfire I won't shoot anywhere near as much. Have you handled one with the Manners?

Funtastico @Rwjeter need some pics once you get the scope mounted. You putting a sling or bipod on it ? Pick up some of that better ammo too $.10-$.12 per round and test it. I shot some Eley Target yellow box that I was impressed with. $7 for 50

I'm gonna put a bipod on it for sure. As far as ammo goes, I'm gonna try everything I can get my hands on through it. From Golden Bullet on up. Hopefully I'll have the rifle and scope by the weekend and I'll post pics.

@ReservoirDawg10 , I know you had mentioned you had a Yo Dave trigger kit. Did you ever install it? If so, what were your thoughts on it? I know you're running a Timney now. Was there a reason behind going that way or just preference.

Definitely helped with the trigger pull. Both take up and weight. Still didn't feel quite crisp enough for what I was wanting out of it. Nice trigger for the most part, but my intentions for the gun is training when I only have 200 yds, so I wanted it consistent and as similar as possible to my bolt guns. Inherently with the rolled shims used in the yo dave kit, it isn't consistent. The Timney got me a consistent trigger and have it set at 1.75 lb.

Shoot it, adjust it, if you like it, roll with it. It does have the nicest trigger out of the box of any 22 I've shot. Shoot me your Addy and I'll send you the yo dave kit if you want it. If you decide to switch it out down the road, just do the same for the next guy getting one.

I've fingered banged one, but that's about it. No trigger time behind it.

I want one of those so bad. Especially after seeing how easy it was to move POI by shouldering the FVSR differently. I fondled a precision trainer at Martins and damn is it nice.

Awesome. Thanks man. We'll still have to get together sometime and shoot too.

The only thing I don't understand is why they didn't thread it. You have to get the 16" barrel to be threaded. But yeah, I wanted an FVSR originally, but between savage's lack of customer service and stories of questionable quality, I opted to put down the money for one I KNEW would do everything I wanted and more. I'm just ready to get it. I've never even handled one.

In all honesty, ive heard several reports of CZs threading being less than perfect. So its probably a good thing that they didnt.
