Am I dumb to want a Adams Arms piston upper (7.5) for shooting an SBR Suppressed. Assume that the extra money is not a deal breaker (it's Christmas right?), is there any serious reason not to get one? Known faults? Will it make me (even) less manly?

Less reliable, proprietary hard to find parts, unbalanced nose heavy rifle buy hey, at least you will have extra parts to break.

Is your suppressor of choice warrantied on a 7.5" barrel?

Just a quick note that - even if it is - it won't sound all that great anyway...

I've got an AA piston upper in 5.45x39 on a NFA polymer lower and a bump fire stock.

No issues.

And I think I just gave NWS a stroke...

Mine is 16" though.

I haven't shot an Adam's arms piston gun before, but the LMT I had was a sweet shooter

Adding a piston system to your rifle will reduce recoil, run cleaner and be more reliable than direct impingemet. I have a Stag with a PWS piston kit and it is awesome. It is amazing how many rounds I can put through it and the big still be clean.
One coins that the piston kit makes the rifle heavier.
