If we wont let them fly and we dont want them to own guns, then maybe we just shouldnt have them in the country at all.....I mean at what point do we just say "this guy is probably up to no good lets kick him out"

Ted Kennedy was once on the no fly list, but he was a suspected rapist and unconvicted killer. Many Americans are on it. No one tells you when you are out on it, there's no procedure for getting off of it. The only way to know, is to go to the airport and try to get on a plane.

That could be you or me for no reason at all, I wouldn't get too hasty with those recommendations.
And that is the problem. We cant let the government just make a list that strips people of their rights. they are either a threat and need to be gone or they need to have all their rights. The government should not be allowed to just put whom ever they want on a list and take away their rights without due process.

His exact words were "to begin with congress should make sure that no one on a no-fly list is able to buy a gun. We also need to make it harder for people to buy powerful assault weapons like the ones used in san bernardino."

that was the extent of the gun control talk.

I never get stopped domestically. Coming back from overseas I'm always detained. Apparently somebody with my name did some fucked up shit in texas years ago.
You know you can get stopped for back child-support, right? ......Pay those bills, homie ;)

Thing I'm most worried about is the secret no fly list. An arbitrary list that anyone can be placed on for any reason and often just because you have a common name can be flagged since someone else maybe on the list with your name. Without making the no fly list more judicial in its requirements, like a search warrant needs, anyone can lose their 2nd amendment rights without a judge or jury.

Yep, "people on this list shouldn't be able to buy guns". Who is on the list? Anyone they fucking feel like putting there.

Enlighten me. I've never deadly with it. Some bullshit list that doesn't require a conviction of anything shouldn't be able to strip someone's right away.
Don't get me wrong here, I'll be the first to say that the ways one can end up on a watch-list are pretty jacked up, but you can find out in advance and you can fight it. DHS has a trip site or some such thing (I'd have to go search it), but it's not as big of a secret as some think.
