    Rifle in vehicle

As long as your carry method of a long gun complies with 2923.16 as Chris posted it would be fine. The point is you can't carry them LOADED in the car.

Does anyone support gun control legislation at all here?

I don't really leave that open given the nature of constitutional rights to me. Our society has it all backwards. The prevailing argument is that if we can come up with something that will save a few lives it will be worth it to infringe on the 2nd amendment. Whereas the thinking of the...

Do feds save the background check information for nics

Tracing serial numbers from manufacturer through ffl through owners is not the same as a NICS background check database. Like I said, the law says they are not allowed to keep NICS records. But as most people, I strongly believe they do. The statute is 18 USC 922(t)(2)©. It says "If receipt of...

I almost linked that article when I linked a few others in that other thread.

    Best self defense round

The best round is the round that you can put on target quickly. You can't defend yourself with misses. So before getting to the issue of ballistics you should find the round you can place on target accurately every time and then consider quick follow up shots after accuracy. THEN we can discuss...

Concealed carry in public malls in ohio?

The thing to remember with that, Chris, is that the mens rea for the offense of criminal trespass is "knowingly". Therefore the state must prove you knowingly violated the posted restriction. If you used an entrance where there was no sign they would have a hard time proving you knowingly...

    Ballistics of 9mm vs 40sw

Here are a couple articles: 9mm vs. .40 Caliber http://www.luckygunner.com/labs/self-defense-ammo-ballistic-tests/ And for good measure, the original article that led to the FBI originally adopting the .40: The Gun Zone -- FBI Handgun Wounding Factors and Effectiveness

Guide to obtaining nfa items in ohio

Check with an NFA dealer for starters. I have found they are pretty good about walking you through the process and can provide all the proper forms. If you try that and still need help I can try to answer your questions. The process is regulated by federal statute and is the same wherever you...

Concealed carry in public malls in ohio?

There is no law prohibiting concealed carry in malls. They are simply a private business like any other. As such, each individual mall may post a sign prohibiting firearms on their property, a violation of which would be criminal trespass. But unless a sign is posted in a conspicuous location...

Does anyone support gun control legislation at all here?

I don't support infringing on the 2nd amendment via gun control. Enforcement of laws that make it criminal for certain people to obtain guns is the proper way. We will never prevent bad guys/crazy people from getting guns. It's a fact we must understand. If guns exist (and they always will)...

Do feds save the background check information for nics

The law is that they aren't supposed to save it. We all know they do. As for buying multiple guns in a short period of time? There's nothing illegal about that. If so, I'd be in jail.

Alien gear cloak tuck 3.0 review

I don't want to sound like I'm knocking Alien Gear. They're a great holster for the price and I use them at times and therefore trust my life to them. I just prefer Crossbreed if I have a choice.

Alien gear cloak tuck 3.0 review

Interesting. I've had a few Cloak Tucks because I always buy them to get me by until my crossbreeds come in. And my opinion is the opposite. They are nice holsters, and comfortable for a while, but they just don't compare to the Crossbreeds in comfort and quality. The Alien Gear wear out...

Lets talk about our concealed weapons we carry

Yes, my training by the NRA asked we not call them weapons....for political reasons. That is for NRA courses, not self defense courses. I don't teach NRA courses for this very reason. I teach concealed carry courses where we teach defensive weaponcraft. Ignore it all you want, but there is no...

    Rifle in vehicle

No correction needed. Great reply Chris. That is the law on long guns in motor vehicles in Ohio and it even applies to CCW license holders. The main point is no "truck gun" or "trunk gun" carrying in Ohio. We are stuck with handguns for self defense when traveling in our cars.

    Best shotgun ever made

Love the 870 but I'm partial to double guns. I'd have to choose a highend over/under or SxS as the BEST ever. Most important, most successful, we might be talking the 870, but I can't call it the "best". It's hard to call any budget level gun the best ever.

Lets talk about our concealed weapons we carry

A gun carried concealed for defensive purposes is a weapon by definition. Yes guns have many uses, but one of those uses is as weapons. Let's not kid ourselves into thinking when we carry a gun that we aren't carrying a weapon. We need to recognize that a gun is a deadly weapon. Appreciate it...

    Open carry laws for ohio

I was going to mention that as well, MyWifeSaidYes. R.C. 9.68 was not a statute that gives Ohioans the right to bear arms. The Ohio Constitution does that. It is not a statutory right, but a constitutional one. As you pointed out, 9.68 was a law created to counteract the Toledo Metroparks case...

    Ohio Open Carry Fans?

An interesting comment. Unfortunately it ignores just how easy the amendment process to the ohio constitution is, including amending it via popular referendum. Don't think the rights we enjoy will always exist just because they always have. Stay active politically and support the NRA and...

What Do Do If You Get Pulled Over While Carrying Concealed?

Oh man, if I had a nickel for everytime I had to deal with one of those sovereign citizens in court…. I'd have like a dollar…. Which is more than their briefs are worth that cite overruled court cases and still misinterpret them. :P
