Whether you want to admit it or not: If you engage in shooting sports or are in a profession which requires carrying a firearm, there is a very real threat of needing chest seals.

What kind do you use and why?
Asherman? Bolin? Hyfin? Halo? Other?

Some food for thought:

I'm a fan of non-vented Halos.
I like vented chest seals. Some of it is because thats how I was taught (tape down three sides) and partially because I have seen better results from vented seals. This is obviously just my opinion.

My only real experience is with asherman, but my most recent training really emphasized using non-vented and just dealing with the tension pnuemothorax when/if it happens. Slapping a NV halo takes way less time than placing an asherman properly.

It takes less time to put on but you loose all that time and more if you have to decompress. I prefer going to least invasive route possible.

Valid point and it certainly seems that for most civilian circumstances a vented seal would be ideal.
