This is something I wanted to make for a long time. My son in law gave me the plates which is cut outs Diamond plate from where he works. The rods Are rebar Rod.
Can't wait to try em out. I will only be used These on rimfire 22's because it is only the quarter inch diamond plate.

Very Nice. I might have to take a trip to the scrap yard and get me some plate and make these myself. Have not had the welder cranked up in a while. I was even going to try some spinners.

What is the diameter of the plates? They look about 8-10 inches. Any idea what thickness and hardness would be needed for .45? I'm thinking I might as well make them thicker and then I can use any caliber. I was thinking of use cold rolled steel over the hot rolled.

They look great Rich; nice addition to your armory! For most people I would say "You'll never wear them out"; but with you I hesitate to make that statement. :D

About 30 years ago I made some knock down targets out on 1/2 in steel and they were OK for up to 44MAG. Any thing thiner was bending up.
I was shooting them at 10 20 30 40yd. Little ones up close and the biger ones out at 40yd.

Yeah, those definitely qualify as 'worn out' Rich!
You'll just have to plan on shooting the new ones for the next 30 yrs. ;)

A spray can of black primer is good to touch up your targets you can do it at the range between groups. It dries fast and you can get it cheap at the dollar stores.
