Meat thermometer is a good one. Except it takes dumbass batteries so when it dies it takes me a while to find them again lol.

Bottle opener count? lol
I still use a mechanical meat thermometer. Works fine.

Thats cool. I like that it also shows you the min temp for each type of meat. Useful for most everything other than red meat imo.
Yeah with cuts of beef you can certainly sear the outside edges to kill any surface bacteria, and safely eat it basically raw.

That sounds like itd be good with certain cuts. I like it when the middle just starts to get warm. Not a fan of the cool red center. So maybe like medium rare I guess you could say is how I like it.

Now tuna on the other hand! Sear that sucker a few seconds and good night is it good!

I totally agree. For most cuts of beef I like the center to be warmed up. It seems like it lets the lipids in the fat release a little bit more and makes it more flavorful than if it's just totally raw.
