How often should i empty my magazine?

I hear people say that carrying a loaded magazine all the time is bad for the magazine and the spring. That it should be emptied from time to time and roated to keep the springs fresh and working.


Is there any truth to these claims? Should I be emptying out my magazines from time to time?

Complete myth. Spring fatigue is caused by compression and expansion repeatedly. Compression alone will not wear out a mag. Loading and unloading it over and over will. Think of a paper clip. Bend it once and it's ok. Bend it over and over in the same spot it snaps.
