The Faded Crisis Fragment is a special, key-like item in Path of Exile 2 known as a Pinnacle Key. It is one of three keys needed to unlock an important endgame encounter called The Burning Monolith, where you face the ultimate boss, the Arbiter of Ash.

How to Obtain the Faded Crisis Fragment

  • You get the Faded Crisis Fragment by defeating the faction leader boss named Jamanra the Abomination inside the Copper Citadel, a special zone that appears on the Atlas map.
  • Before fighting Jamanra, you must defeat two powerful lieutenants in adjacent areas, which makes the process challenging and requires good preparation.

Farming Tips

  • Citadels appear as special map zones, and their frequency is tied to your atlas setup.
  • To farm multiple Faded Crisis Fragments efficiently, increase your Waystone Drop Chance by:
    • Investing in Atlas passive skills that boost Waystone drop rate.
    • Crafting Waystones favoring suffix modifiers (using Vaal Orbs) that raise drop chance.
    • Using map mods and items like Precursor Tablets that increase item quantity in Citadel zones.
  • Higher Waystone Drop Chance allows you to get multiple fragments from a single boss kill;
    • Around 300% Waystone Drop Chance yields two fragments,
    • Near 750-900% can yield three fragments per kill.

Usage

  • Collect the Faded Crisis Fragment along with the other two Pinnacle Keys (Ancient and Weathered Crisis Fragments).
  • Place all three keys at The Burning Monolith entrance on the Atlas to open the gateway and fight the Arbiter of Ash.
  • The fight offers lucrative rewards and is considered the pinnacle of PoE 2 endgame content.
The Faded Crisis Fragment is a crucial item tied to late-game progression. Farming it requires careful atlas management and high Waystone Drop Chance to maximize fragment yield. Acquiring and combining all three fragments unlocks the ultimate boss fight, rewarding skilled and prepared players with top-tier loot. This mechanic adds depth and challenge, making it a central goal for many PoE 2 players.
