Perhaps somebody could school me on why having a 2 stage on a duty rifle is optimal.
As the others have mentioned before. Mainly preference.

For me, I like a 2-stage on a bench gun as I feel its easier for me to predict the break and I like that the take up is all but 90% gone and you only need that little extra press to send one down range.

I have stoned most of my GI triggers in my other rifle to be super smooth and lighter, but you still have that longer take up that leaves more variables that could throw my shot off target.

Good trigger control will make you proficient with either though.
