Precision Applications, LLC will be holding a 1911 Operator & Armorer Course on Saturday, August 29 in Powder Springs GA.
Course will start at 7am and run until approximately 7pm. There will be approximately 8 hours of live fire range drills, with a 1 hour break for lunch. After that portion is over, we will clean up the range and retire to the classroom for at least 3 hours of the Armorer portion.
Live fire portion will include, but is not limited to:
-Drawing
-Grip, to include strong-side thumb placement for safety use
-Ready positions
-Reloads, to include Emergency, Tactical, and Magazine Exchange
-Shooting while moving
-Use of strong- and support-side cover
-Immediate and remedial malfunction clearances
-Introduction to some timed and scored drills, to include the Tactical Pistol Course
Armorer’s topics will include, but are not limited to:
-Complete disassembly and reassembly
-Lubing and maintenance, to include inspecting critical parts for wear or replacement
-Modifications/improvements to include sights, trigger, grip safeties, thumb safeties, slide releases, magazine wells, extractors, ejectors, firing pins, grip texturing, and more
-Accuracy and reliability improvements
-Function checks
Gear list:
-1911 handgun in any caliber. Can be single or double stack, full size or compact. Must be SAO, cocked n’ locked.
-Holster
-Spare magazines for reloads. If you magazines hold 10 or less rounds, it is recommended that you have at least 4 spare mags on your person.
-600 rounds of ammunition
-Eye and ear protection
-Hat with a front brim
-Water and snacks
The live fire portions will be held on an outdoor range, so dress appropriately.
