Your favorite Commander or smaller 1911 concealment holster?

Doug...how much for your holster? My commander is supposed to be in by mid Feb. I have seen enough pics of your work to know that is the only leather I want!

Known sources for ammunition - Availability Board

Vance's in Columbus had 22lr in stock this past weekend $22 for 325 rounds. I am going back tomorrow to see if they still have any in stock.

Curious to see your review. That price caught my attention last week but I was out of town so did not order yet.

Rich...how are you able to get your lead? My wheel weights and scrap lead sources have all gone away.

    Mini 14 scope

Check out the Weaver Kaspa. It might not be as short as you want (about 12") and it is made in china, but you can get 2-7 or 3-9 within your budget and you can get 4-12 for about $125. I think eye relief and glass clarity are very good for a budget priced scope...and they hold zero very well.

POLL: When will the ammo shortage end?

Last week I was at my local gunsmith and he had 3 boxes of Federal. 22 lr on the counter. I asked him how much and he said one of his regulars asked if he would sell it for him on consignment. The guy wanted $75...which I said was not too far out of line given availability...then he said $75...

Sanity might be making a comeback

LGS has 20 rounds of 223 available for $8.50 (limit 2 boxes but can't complain with that price). They also have a DPMS lite for $699 and a Stag model 1 for $799. Hopefully a sign of things to come! Sony Tablet S using Tapatalk 2

    Anyone have an FFL?

I don't have one but thinking the same thing. Fees have been going up here too. I have been researching over the past few weeks what is required and what you have to do to distinguish between being a true ffl vs. an individual 'collector'. I have learned so far that the programs like ffl123...

    New Years

I know people who still do that but never did it myself. Never seemed like a good idea standing outside knowing that lead was going to be falling somewhere.

    First time casting bullets

I was just given a bar that says flexam 50/50 on it...it is a 2-3 lb bar. I was told it is 50% lead and 50% tin. My understanding is that it was used as a solder on old lead pipes. Do you think that can safely mixed in with the wheel weights for casting bullets? Sony Tablet S using Tapatalk 2

Thanks for the link Skip. Called today and one of the tire places said I could come pick up their old weights so will be doing that this weekend.

    First time casting bullets

I got the lead from one of my dad's friends. He said it was 98% lead and 2% tin although no way to verify that. I didn't lube them yet in case I need to melt them down and add something to harden it. Im thinking about lubing a few and loading to min to see how they do in my SP101. If you...

    First time casting bullets

I finally started casting lead tonight. I was casting .358 158gr fn using a Lee mold. The first 3 out had a couple wrinkles but after that things were working well. I took them down to my bench to weigh them and lube them. I checked the weight on each one and they ranged from 161 to 162.2...

Thoughts on a potential 10/22 purchase

Well...I did end up making some purchases over the last few weeks. I bought the 10/22 finger groove sporter. I looked it over one more time and found two small scratches on the stock. We settled at $325 which I thought was fair. By the way...it shoots great (Bigdogdaddy was right...couldnt...
