    Stag AR

Truthfully, I was quite surprised to get a Fed Ex notice on Monday, with an expected delivery this Friday. And apologies to all, as I've been lazy and haven't taken the pictures I should. Will do so after the Thanksgiving craziness is over, and SWMBO is satisfied I've done all my chores. ;)...

    Stag AR

If you look down a ways, you'll find the thread I started 'thinking about an AR'. Wanted to follow up. I picked up a Stag Model 3, added a Vortex Strikefire to it, but for the past month or so haven't been able to shoot it at all. In the meantime, I added a Hogue grip (very comfortable, better...

    Photobucket messed up...

Well, don't feel too bad, Craig, as there was some kind of problem for awhile. I saw some posts on another board that mentioned the same issues with access.

Two fine holster makers in Buffalo, NY

You brought back a memory for me, Ray. I remember asking Lou Alessi some questions on another gun board a long time ago. He was always willing to answer you, and more than willing to help out any new holster makers looking for advice. RIP, Lou, as you were one class act!

    N8 Holster review

You're welcome, Pops. I really wanted this holster to work, as it was very comfortable, but it just wasn't right for me.

    N8 Holster review

I just re-read Mayo's blog about holsters, and it prompted me to share my thoughts about the N82 Tactical Pro holster. I'm a lefty, and bought one to hold my Kimber 1911. I had read all the reports about how comfortable it was, so decided to try it. I've been using it for some time now, but it...

    Eye candy in .45

I know the feeling, Ray. Like you, I've looked at the Nighthawks, then realized they were just a little too rich for me. Now I'm ogling a Les Baer. Of course, when I mentioned the possibility of getting one to the boss lady, she promptly told me to forget it when she heard the price. :( My...

The most effective hardware for home defense

Handgun, cell phone, and Surefire light. Also, make sure to keep car keys handy close by your bed at night. Can be used to trigger the car alarm if needed, or tossed out a window to arriving police so they can easily enter your home.

    AK co-witness

Question for you yz - I have the same dot sight on my AR. I noticed that the dot, whether using red or green, is not a perfect circle. Instead it is kind of 'spidery' - sorry, just can't think of a better word. I know that folks who have an astigmatism will have trouble with red dot sights, but...
