I hope he gets a good lawyer. I have trouble believing a DA in NY when it relates to firearms. The truth may be that he had a single container of gun powder and they are blowing it out of proportion.

Agreed. The 45,000 rounds of ammo they quoted in the article is meaningless to me- could be bricks of .22 or old mil surp. Especially considering the small number of guns. And that BS quote about "take on an army" in the article is really suspicious.

same thing with the parts to assemble and AR 10 or 15. He probably just had some stocks or grips.

It is astounding to me, yet not surprising, that the legal system in this country lets crap like this happen.

I remember a lot of the police up there saying they would not enforce unconstitutional laws. I believe it was on youtube. I wonder where they are on this?

I think we know where they are on this...anyway, for every one cop that says that I'm sure there are 3 more that will happily do it to get that next promotion.

id be willing to go out on and a limb here and say the police are the largest stockpilers of weapons and ammo around and they are the most likely to come to your house and murder you it seems

Sooo...here's my question.

How the heck did the police get the warrant in the first place? Concerned neighbor? He posted his stuff on the interwebz? How did he come up on the police radar in the first place? Selling on Craigslist?

In NY everything is registered and tracked...I think if you buy ammo out of state it has to go through a dealer.

Said it was some sort of random licensee check they were doing when they saw the gun powder. Apparently if you have a permit there they can come check up on you.

Yeah, I still don't understand why people think that a person with a "lot" of guns is a danger, any more so than a person with one gun. Even if we're talking about a murderous criminal, are they more dangerous with 10,000 rifles than with one? So one man could "take on a small army" by themselves just because they have a lot of firearms? This is the marketing campaign being waged against gun owners. It's not based in reality, but perception, and perceptions are being skewed to erode our rights.
