Aside from the obvious......let me explain. I think I might have some sickness. I'm closing in on 40 years old, and it feel like the wisdom of a human in the prime of their life is starting to seep in. I've been experiencing these symtoms:

Disdain for all things polymer.

Extreme attraction to classic designs like that of the 1911, and the Smith N Frame

Extreme excitedness at the thought of Royal Blue steel.

The slick clickety click click of a finely tuned revolver.

Is there a cure?

Have any of you felt a call to the return to the classics?

Does the smell of a well worn leather holster make anyone hard?

What's going on here?

My 10 year old is a Revo fanatic, she smurfed the K38 Combat Masterpiece and has a 986 Pro Series on the way for Christmas. Can't beat a wheel gun for mojo.

I've retired from shooting sports to take the job of mag loader, bag toter, ammo stuffer, and coach (plus it slightly decreased the ammo consumption). The girls are doing great, this year the youngest joined Emi Jane shooting competition. She's decided she wants to stick to pistol and revolver... Emi Jane just wants to shoot and doesn't care what kind.

Ah, so I didn't spell her name correctly (sorry :( )

Glad to hear they are doing well; let me know if they could use some ammo donations toward the cause!!

No worries! Yeah, they shoot roughly 750-850 rounds pistol every two weeks and around 400 rounds rifle. Between the Dillon, and Lee Loadmaster... It's nonstop.

And I still have to do an AR for the youngest, and get her a shotgun by summer. I call it "Unplanned Adulthood".

Laufen sorry to derail your thread sir! Appalachian Armory just got a Performance Center revo that's beautiful (but pale in comparison to classic N Frames)

That's awesome :thumb: At that rate, you're going to have some Miculek-level masters in no time!

Let me know if I can pitch in on powder, primers, brass or boolits, I'd love to help! :yo:

Not only is it gross, but it's been proven to shrink testes and make men feel the need to dress in full drag

I have a constant magnetic draw to the classics. It's only my opposing desire to simplify my life that keeps it in check. I have an appreciation for revolvers, but my weakness is for commander sized 1911s and lever action rifles. With lever guns, the older ones really catch my eye. I have a tough time walking away from a nice set of old wood stocks.

You don't have to be old to appreciate timeless designs. Hell, I'm pushing 30 and I've liked 1911's, lever guns and revolvers most of my life.

I tend to gravitate towards the older stuff.....I'm still a 1911 fanatic...i LOVE 1760-1815 pattern french and American flintlocks, big bore lever guns, and milsurps. I guess I'm doing the opposite of you,I started with the old stuff and am leaning towards the newer stuff. I got my first polymer gun about a year ago.

Never been much for revolvers though....at least anything designed after 1873.

The 1858 Remington New Army is my all time favorite revolver.
