Yeah...so you'll have a rusted out bolt, gas system, but the barrel bore will be shiny

CL was meant more for machine gunning ...but hey if you have to have CL buy CL. iDgaf
As if I don’t clean my guns....

But wait, who here owns a Yugo AK?
Again, it’s about the longevity. As @Jeddak has found, the CHF barrels last longer.
If I had to choose between CHF and CL, I’d go with CHF.

I didnt see where jeddak did 100k round test.....
Only one person here has actually shot out an AK barrel...

I'd pick the better made barrel . CHF is a plus

And I've had Yugo AKs. My first AK EVER was an Opap. My first gun purchase EVER was a Yugo SKS.

Yugo aks just seem to incorporate all the worst aspect of an AK into one rifle

But again buy what you want...
If you want a heavy gun I'd buy a vepr over a Yugo all day. I'd get a galil over both without a second thought.

They do last longer, and that's what I grew up with.
Back to M67, it is a different design from the Soviet M43 bullet. It has a large air cavity and tumbles in the target. I always thought of Golden Tiger as an updated M67 design, that adds a boattail for a more stable flight .

Until Galil Ace, Vepr was the most accurate factory AK, period. Heavier receiver, thicker RPK barrel.

If one wanted an accurate gun get an AR.
The added weight of the vepr is counterproductive to the role the AK is supposed to play

I never claimed that. I do have a 20 year old Vepr that still shoots as good as it was when it was new.
Battlefield Vegas likes CHFCL barrels, Romy barrels last 50K before they start keyholing, IIRC. Since replacing an AK barrel is not as easy as an AR, longevity is important.

Well, when you've spent $10,000 in ammo you can also spend another $800 and get a second gun

Right. If I had Galil money, I’d look very seriously at them. As it is, I’ve never seen one (since I realized what they are) in real life.

Who peed in your Quick trip coffee this morning? Did not get laid last night? :boink:
I have enough ARs to be comfortable to pass to my kids, but AK will always be my go to platform (besides normal ability to stay clean and function in all environments without much or any maintenance). I have been shooting AKs since I was 7 years old. This is my rifle. I can field strip one and put it back together in under 30 seconds.

And it's cool, I dont care if you prefer veprs....I just dont see the point of them. They weigh as much as a pig FAL...galils just add enough versatility to almost make up for the weight.
