Yeah, I imagine it's more of a navy defense gun against incoming missiles.

looks like they would need to automate the loading process. Awesome weapon though. Work great on fast boat. Of course R2D2 on the ships now do pretty well

The barrels are pre-loaded so they are simply changed out. Think of a Roman candle with an electronic firing system.
