It appears that Magpul has decided to make a designated 300BLK mag. The popular round has generated enough demand for it I assume. I wondered if anyone would grab the wrong mag and load a 300BLK into a 556 chamber not paying attention and have a bad day. Well the texture of the mag and top lip design I think is different so you don't have to worry so much about it now. With a MSRP of $15.95 will see what they sell for in stores.

For all you 300BLK guys this could be a good thing keeping mags loaded and separate at the same time.

I hope they offer them in 10 and/or 20 rounders too. If I ever do a .300 AR I'd rather have a 10 round for hunting personally
I originally built one for hunting and used a 5 rd GI mag no issues running supers in it.

No issues using PMAGS or 416 clones for 300.
I used GI mostly but some p mags to run 300 black as well and no issues. Apparantly there have been enough calls to Magpul that they decided to fix it.

I noticed when i loaded up some 200+gr that they pinched together. I was going to only run tan mags in the 300 to keep them separate, but this is a good option too. Id really love it if they released them in MCT

i thought one of the requirements for 300 was to run in standard ar mags. if that isn't the case then either the design or manufacture of these rounds is not up to expectations and hype.

i have had 300 ball rounds not feed properly and found that the culprit is usually one of these "fly by night" ammo startups that have little QC or technical knowledge. i've noticed that some of them have already disappeared or gone under.

as to the confusion situation - get a roll of duct tape or a bunch of sharpee markers which will be much cheaper in the long run vs spending $16 for a mag when an $8.95 mag should suffice.

People are seriously that retarded about throwing 300 in 556!? SMH. We are doomed as a race
Yes... Yes we are... Get some original Magpuls and throw on them it it's that bad. FDE for 5.56 OD for 300. If you still don't get it right, the gene pool is better off without you.

My 300 Bo mags are marked pretty good and kept separate. I really don't see a need except the coolness factor maybe.

The amount of time it takes to look at the side of the mag, you could easily just look at the top. This is a complete waste IMHO. If you want to get crazy, use different color mags or just mark the mags.

I color code my mags with tape. Green for 5.56/.223 , res for 300BLKOUT and Blue for 7.62 ( curved mag should give it away) to help others shooting my firearms.

that's what I was thinking too. That said, if I ever get a .300 I'm the type of douche bag that would have to buy these mags for it.
