I'm thinking about getting my first glock soon. I know. Any experience with the 20sf? I'm a 45 guy, but I really want a 10mm.

I've had a 20c,29, and Gen4 20. I love the 10mm! Lots of watered down 180gr 10mm that's pretty close to .40s&w ballistic wise. I've shot Underwood and Doubletap ammo that's loaded up pretty hot and it's a blast! Recoil wasn't bad at all especially, in the full size models. I don't think you'll regret it. Don't really know many people who've shot one and didn't like the round. Only con I'd say could be ammo price. Good to buy in bulk or reman. like GA arms. That's all I bought when I had mine. One of my favorite rounds. Will own another. Perfect woods gun, imo.

As much as I hate Glocks I've been contemplating buying a Glock 40 just to have another 10mm until I can afford the Dan Wesson Bruin that I want. I have had a G20 and G29 in the past and I really liked the 10mm.

I looked at those, but I'm not a big fan of the long slide.

The G20 is a big gun. Not very good as a CC pistol so if I'm gonna get a fullsize 10mm Glock again I might as well take advantage of the extra velocity from the longer barrel. I'd love to take a hog or a deer with a 10mm.

I like big guns. My last 2 are a full size xdm and a 5 inch 1911. Is the 20 any bigger than them?

The G20's frame is a LOT thicker than the 1911 and noticeably thicker than the XDm. The G20 SF isn't any thinner width wise than the regular G20, it is thinner from the backstrap to the trigger guard(if that makes sense).

Not at all. I have big ole meat hooks. I think I need to find one in a store and fondle it.

The G20 SF is thinner from here to here...

The Gen4's are all SF's from what I understand. They come with the replaceable backstraps.

Looks good to me. I have big hands. I want to grab one before I buy though.

Yeah man, I'd definitely fondle one before I bought it. I have large-ish hands and it wasn't too bad but both the 29 and 20 just felt kinda awkward in the hand.

20SF is one of my favs. The grip is the perfect size. It's as reliable as the 17. Too big for me to carry IWB. I carry a 30SF. That's a great 45 too. Even more accurate than the 20. Mas Ayoob wrote an article on it.

I'm too fat to iwb so that's perfect.

Had a 20c and really miss it. I think Jake had some pics of the flames at the range a few years back. Never carried it so I can not say if it is a good carry. If folks carry a 21...than I would say it is the same.

Fits my hand perfectly. Like it was made for me. Gonna have to order one soon. I'll wait until I'm drunk and when the wife starts bitching, I'll just say "oopsy".
