Precision Applications, LLC will be holding a Competency-based Handgun & Lowlight Tactics course on Saturday, August 27 in Jefferson GA.

1029 Creek Nation Rd
Jefferson, GA 30549

We will start at 1pm EST and run until 10pm EST, with a 1 hour break for dinner.

Competency-based Handgun:
This portion of the course is comprised exclusively of timed and scored drills. These are pass/fail drills that altogether will cover the skill sets of accuracy, drawing, reloads, shooting while moving, one-handed shooting (both primary and support hand), and more. Different drills will focus on different skills, or sometimes a combination of skill sets.

The students will be able to take these courses away with them to practice and perfect on their own, a fair barometer of their abilities with critical skill sets.

Lowlight Tactics:
The last portion of the training day will focus on lowlight tactics. We will discuss and work on tactics to use without a flashlight, with a handheld light, and with a weapon-mounted light.

If time permits, students will be offered the opportunity to shoot the Tactical Pistol Course for score. This will probably be done during dinner, so if you'd like to shoot it, pack your chow.

Gear list:
Handgun (pistol or revolver)
Handheld flashlight. Even if you have a weapon-mounted light, you're required to have a handheld light. Preferably a "tactical" light with a momentary-on tailswitch. I have some for loan if needs be.
Weapon-mounted light (optional)
500rds ammo
Holster and available reloads
Eye and ear protection
Hat with front brim
Dress appropriately for the weather. Shorts are acceptable.
Water. You can leave the range for dinner or bring chow and eat there.

Course fee is $200 per student, payable in advance. Your slot is not guaranteed until your course fees are paid.

Feel free to visit Precision Applications, LLC - Precision Applications for information on additional courses we offer, as well as our Instructors.

For a class like this, if you have a weapon mounted light do you train on its use as well as a handheld light?

Max of 20. The drills are a lot less involved than the Carbine Teamwork, and we usually run 2 relays instead of bunches of 2-person teams. So, more trigger time.
Trigger time is ideal ha

At the end of the course, all students will be given a handout with all the drills laid out so that you can run them on your own.
