Can't decide if I should keep my 357/38 lever gun

450 bushmaster barrel? Whaaaa?
I am going to be a hog's terror some day. Apache will chamber offbeat stuff on decent barrels for a decent price. The Lane is for a .44 lever, 45-70 lever, .450bm bolt, and .458 bolt. Like I said, dumb (but thorough).

I just wish there was a 45-70 that was easy to thread and fast enough twist.

I wonder if a Marlin 45-70 would be easy enough to thread since the mag tube is not as long as the barrel.

How about an encore frame. Then you can have a stack of threaded barrels at low cost to shoot the 8000 rounds everyone wants to stock. You can shoot dozens of calibers stocking projectiles in .45, .40, .355 aka 9mm, .308, .284 aka 7mm, .224.

Hey playa, I have a couple loads using the same bullet that makes a 30-30 or .308 into a performance clone of a .357 magnum using plated bullets for about ¢25 a round, subsonic.

Problem with the encore when shooting suppressed is that every round will have first round pop due to the time involved in manipulating a breech loading action.

I shot dove with a single shot 20 gauge for several years as a boy. You can shuck em in and out pretty good with a little practice. In fact I still have the shotgun, and even though I have not fired it in 5 years or more. I bet you $20 that I can shoot a box of shells in under 2 minutes. How many rounds of 30-06 are you shooing a minute?

It's not the rate of fire so much as breaking the seal and allowing oxygen back into the can.

That doesn't have to be; a bolt gun breaks the seal for a second or so, and they seem to be quiet on follow up shots with subsonic .308.

You guys should video a bolt vs a break rifle on a can, next you film metering. Would make a great video, you know, for science!
