Handgun Self-Defense Ammunition - Ballistic Testing Data

Hydrashoks have a bad tendency to plug up and act like hardball. There are a lot better options these days.

Handgun Self-Defense Ammunition - Ballistic Testing Data

The bonded Golden Sabre is a much better bullet than the old Golden Sabre (still available). The original GS has a tendency to shed its jacket.

Handgun Self-Defense Ammunition - Ballistic Testing Data

I'd have to Google it. It's hosted around the web on a few sites like Lightfighter, m4carbine.net and weapon evolution. Basically, loads like the HST, RangerT, Gold Dots, Critical Defense, Barnes, fall into the ideal category. But that can also vary depending on the bullet weight. For example...

Any regular SET members do NFA engraving?

LOL! Case in point on the manual of arms. No more and never again!

Any regular SET members do NFA engraving?

There are similar products that are one-piece designs. But you kinda confirmed what I thought. It's not for everyone and if you're going to use one, you better train with it. Because it's a totally different manual of arms. Not a bad idea, but not for everyone either. Don't dismiss something...

Handgun Self-Defense Ammunition - Ballistic Testing Data

Doctor Gary Roberts has done much more work on this subject and is the leading expert in duty ammo performance and terminal ballistics. I'd put much more faith in his findings than luckygunner. There's nothing wrong with them doing a test like this, per se, but when it comes to actually...

Any regular SET members do NFA engraving?

I'm not personally a fan of them, but would you say that you used one enough or trained with one enough to become proficient with it? Did it cause problems?

Any regular SET members do NFA engraving?

Dang. I didn't realize that was a 12.5. And with the Brakeout 1.0? My ears hurt just looking at it. But suppressed, that has got to be a sweet setup. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Yeah, but he said "Regular Member". [emoji6]

Any regular SET members do NFA engraving?

OK. Missed that earlier. He's going to have to transport in person or ship it direct to an SOT, as a lower only. But you're right, attaching a 16 upper technically makes it a Title 1 gun and could be transported. But like you said, I wouldn't want to be the test case. Sent from my SM-G920V...

Any regular SET members do NFA engraving?

Unless the form 1 has been approved, it's still a regular lower. Engraving doesn't make it an NFA item, so anyone can transport it. Engraving simply makes it compliant once the forms are approved. Form = SBR If it's an approved form 1 lower, then it has to stay under the owners control or in...

If you play stupid games with the ATF, you win stupid prizes.

Sig didn't design their brace. Another smaller start up company did. That company got it approved and then Sig bought it. And Sig already tried the "it's a brake not a silencer" argument. They lost in court. So the precedent was already in place to shut this guy down. The fact that he clearly...

If you play stupid games with the ATF, you win stupid prizes.

He sold a couple of hundred of these and advertised that they fit perfectly in a specific sized tubing. He had already been arrested and charged once before and was on probation for the same thing. Dude knew what he was doing and basically gave ATF the finger.

Can we talk about back up 'iron' (polymer) sights?

    They aren't or he isn't? [emoji6]

Can we talk about back up 'iron' (polymer) sights?

Nothing at all, unless you're running a scope that requires a lower profile. Other than that, they're fine.

Can we talk about back up 'iron' (polymer) sights?

I love them, but I'm not sure they are worth the premium over the Pros. There's a version of the Pro rear sight that offers similar range adjustment. Maybe the "LR" model?
