Who here packed their winter get home bag for the vehicle today? I know I did. I really don't think I personally will need it, but we all know how snowmageddon turned out. I work approximately 45 miles from the house, and I have a 6 month old daughter and Pregnant wife (yeah, I'm a busy guy!) at home to take care of. If heaven forbid this thing goes south and my truck is stranded in Atlanta, you better believe I'm hoofing it home!

GHB contents:
2 compressible pillows
1 warm sleeping bag
1 lighter
1 1 liter bottle of water
1 life straw (thanks SET Santa)
Food for 2 days
1 basic first aid kit
1 pair of gloves
1 sharpie
1 pencil
1 note pad
1 Bible
1 G26
1 spare mag
50 hollow points
1 fixed blade (Glock) knife
1 pocket knife
1 Winter hat
50' cordage
1 flashlight
12 spare AA batteries

Of course I also have a winter coat in my truck and wear comfortable waterproof boots everyday and have a fully charged work phone which usually lasts me a week or charge.

Also, I'm open to opinions on my bag. What did I forget? What could I have eliminated? @Patryn I'm particularly interested in your input.

So, are you prepared?

Maybe some long johns, at least bottoms so your legs stay warm if you have have to walk. Maybe some gloves too. I'd throw an extra quarter bottle in too. Your life straw won't work very well m trying to drink ice or snow.

I have a pair of gloves packed. Good advice on the water. Didn't think about icy water conditions with the life straw. I was planning on snagging a couple extra bottles of water in case. I'd like to have 2 liters ready in case. They're bundled in the center of my bag to help insulate them. As far as long johns go, might be a wise investment in my part. Thanks Medic!

Cool beans! I like those. Have you had a chance to test them? They look like a nice compact design.
