I also vote for the Tirant 9. I love mine. I run it under a handguard on an AR9 as well. Barrel is 4" if I remember right. I had to go with the ALG rail to make it fit. It was the only relatively cheap option to fit the can under it. I think it sounds great, is easily serviceable, parts are easy to come by and cheap ish...

I would go 45 cal. The tone is lower and sounds quieter to the ear than the same model in 9mm. Plus, you have more versatility. There are more modular cans out there, but I have the Griffin Revolution 45. Love it. Can go standard length, or lose a bit of suppression and go with a k/short configuration. Uses SCO Octane endcaps and pistons, so plenty of options out there.
