Update: Jimbo Fisher in the presser after the game said no updates yet and they are awaiting word from the medical staff. Fisher said starters were supposed to play two series in the second half.

Florida State is cruising to a victory against an overmatched Charleston Southern team, but its superstar safety Derwin James injured his left knee in the third quarter. He will not return according to Florida State.


In the third quarter, James sprinted to stop a receiver after another member of the secondary blew a coverage. James did not break up the attempt, but did lay a big hit on the receiver, after which it looked like his knee awkwardly extended and bent.

James walked a bit and then went to the turf, as trainers checked him out. He walked off under his own power, was evaluated in the sideline medical tent, and then was carted off, though it is perhaps worth noting that James’ leg was not stabilized in the cart.

Florida State plays Louisville next Saturday in Louisville in an important conference game featuring two of the three top teams in the Atlantic Division.

I'm still keeping the hope alive.

I'm not holding my breath though. I'm still a diehard UGA fan.

It's just funny to me how many people hopped on the FSU bandwagon after their 2013 National Championship. My BIL is one of them and I give him shit for it all the time. I don't know if the motherfucker has ever even been to Florida.

Just like UGA should have replaced Mark Richt years ago, FSU should have replaced Bobby Bowden after the 2001 or 2002 season. He was past his prime. Jimbo Fisher has done great things for FSU. I think that Kirby Smart is gonna do great things for UGA.

gt has beaten fsu twice before that while paul johnson was the coach (and have lost twice to fsu in the acc championship).

one win was in tallahassee after a long thunderstorm delay. the other was in atlanta when the fsu running back fumbled on the goal-line while trying to score the go-ahead touchdown with seconds left in the game.

the two acc championships where when gt went in place of miami after they self-selected out of post season play (after the booster - shapiro? - was caught buying players' girlfriends' abortions).

the second was the acc championship before jamies and company went to the inaugural college football playoff game (and i'll stop there).
