That was a Taurus 1911 we were shooting that day at my house. Its seen thousands and thousands of rounds

Remember I was shocked that out of all my high dollar 1911s the Taurus was the only one that barrel fit in.
Yes, I do remember that. I guess you almost losing your eye was an ammo related issue.

That said, you can't import an AR so if I had to guess these are probably being OEM manufactured for them by Diamondback.

Didn't they buy Diamondback?

Says they are 100% designed and manufactured by Taurus in Miami FL.

Was DB in Miami?

If they bought Diamondback, that just assures me 100% that I will never own one of these unless it was given to me or was like $200-$300, then I would just sell or trade it for something else.

It did state that it was made in America. Of course it's not because they're Patriots. It's just because of 922r.

So that's what's going on here! They did acquire Diamondback and Diamondback is out of Florida... well at least that makes sense. The price..:confused2:

Only direct experience was with a PT-92 and a 1911.

Sold the PT to Jake and still have the 1911 - both were flawless.

But yeah, jumping into the AR market now is like a sure fire way to depress an already depressed market...something's gotta give at this point.

Makes you wonder if they will try to recoup their tooling costs by selling at a loss or just pull out altogether.
