Got a question. I'm sure there is a thread, but I'm not looking. What is the process to get an SBR? It's number 4 on my list but I know I have to start early and plan in advance.

File a form 1 with the ATF, pay the $200 and wait....... then wait and finally wait some more.
Go ahead and get going on the form 1 for the serialized part of the rifle... and wait! Play with it as a pistol for a while!
I haven't done an SBR since the new bullshit rules, but it's easier than a suppressor and the wait times on the e-filed forms are much shorter.
Maybe somebody can correct me, but I don't believe e-file exists anymore for Form 1's... at least not since 41P (or whatever it's called) went into effect. I think that because of the pictures/finger print requirements, you can't e-file now.
I want to get a SBR AR lower going again, but stalled after seeing e-file is not an option now.

If you have never done it before, dobbs has a super easy F1 package. I think its $125, but he does your prints, passport photos, fills out the form and engraves yiur lower. Its an excellent value
