Last weekend we did a short hike up Pine Mountain to the David Archer Overlook. The West Loop is a little over 2 1/2 miles but over 600 ft elevation climb. From Cartersville's highest peak you can see Plant Bowen's smoke stacks, lake Allatoona, and Kennesaw Mountain. My wife Amy, my hiking buddy Jeter, and my son Nathan and his girlfriend accompanied me.
It's a short, steep, and heavily traveled trail. But if you only have a little time and want a pretty view then it is a nice little escape.
