Bought a Howa Mini Action in 6.5 Grendel. Installed a 20MOA rail and adjusted the HACT trigger. Had the barrel cut to approximately 14.5” and a Silencerco brake pinned and welded.

Bought a JTAC Elf Owl chassis with collapsing stock off a guy. He paid $620 for it, didn’t like it, and I picked it up for $375 shipped.

I was leaning towards the Nightforce F1 NX8 2.5-20x50mm, but may go with the NX8 F1 4-32x50mm instead.

She’ll be a lightweight, compact little rig. These have a great reputation for accuracy, so I’m very curious.

Were you at the Powder Springs range last night? It sounded like someone was doing a low light/night fire course last night. ( 2/14/2021)

Sounds like you found some great parts to get started with. Look forward to seeing it done and range results. I have 2 ARs in 16” 6.5G that we hunt with and enjoy. Keep us posted

From an owner of the 2.5-20x...go with the 4-32x. You won't miss the extra 1.5x on the low end and weights and sizes are near enough it makes little difference.

That’s been my thinking so far.

The only pro in the 2.5-20x column was “I don’t own one of these”........I’ve got several of the 4-32x’s.

Fuckin' Pimp! Is the stock comfortable? Also, do you have trouble hitting the button to extend it when it's completely collapsed?

I haven’t shot it yet, so not 100% sure. I doubt it will be the most comfortable stock that I’ve ever shot, but everything is a trade-off. To get compact/lightweight/collapsible, you have to give up other features. I’m putting an adhesive pad on the cheek rest.

You don’t have to hit the button to extend it; just grab n’ pull. There are three locking notches at extended lengths. Once you’re in a notch, you have to hit the release to collapse it, or extend it further.

Not sure why "just pull it" never entered my mind...Been doing that since I was like 10..well shit. The talihook I have is pretty comfortable...on your arm as it is supposed to be.
