My lovely wife bought me a genuine Almazon Kitchen knife, with cutting board for Christmas last year. I absolutely love it. Check out Almazon Kitchen on YT...pretty cool stuff.

I have the opposite opinion... buy a $20 stainless knife in the shape/ size you like and get a ceramic pull through sharpener... easy sharpening as often as you like.

I've been buying from www.japanesechefsknife.com

I've been really happy with them. Do yourself a favor and get a sharpening stone while you're at it, so you can maintain them.

I'll get pics when I get home if I remember to check this thread lol...
Last pic is an onion I sliced

I have given up since my wife puts everything in the dishwasher. Mine came from Sam's 2 for $12 with white handles. She got me a nice set of knives a few years ago; but afraid she will use them on the quartz counters, drop them on the tile, and then toss them in the dishwasher for good measure. She doesn't cook, so she doesn't understand why she can't do this to knives. Good thing I love her.

Partially why I use an old wood handle "chef's delight" knife.

starter set and 6 steak knives, just got them in. They are thin and flexible, that surprised ,me but that might be an advantage as long as they do not have breaking issues.
