1st off, if you don't follow Olight on the social media's... you should! Or at least sign up for email notifications!

They recently had a flash sale on their PL-2 weapons light. It's rated at 1200 lm! So I jumped on one!

Link to Light

Light comes in a really nice packaging, batteries charged and ready to go. Takes 2 CR123A batteries, it does accept RCR123A. Will go on both Glock rail and 1913 rails, has 2 adapters that screw in to make this happen. Although with the Glock rail adapter it fit tight on the 1913 rails I have. Has tail switch on both sides, easy to access with trigger finger. At least for me on a SR9!! It may fit closer to trigger guard on other pistols.

1200 lm... this bitch will blind someone in their tracks!!!!! It throws a nice beam!

It is a little larger than I thought it would be, but it will get the job done I think! There PL-mini might fir the bill for possible EDC. For a nightstand gun it does it. Adds about 3oz to the front, not bad at all!

Anyways, if you have one or get one, feel free to add your thought here!

Mine should be in when I get back home, in the meantime, does it say if you can use the rechargeable rcr123a batteries?

Yes, it will take the RCR123A!

I'm planning on picking up some of those and a recharger.

Olight claims 72 mins of use out of the batteries. (I think that's what was on the box)

I've been thinking about getting the PL-MINI to throw on my 19. I like the size of the mini better, having that much flashlight hanging off my 19 would drive me crazy.

1200lum will blind not only the other guy but you as well in hallways or tight corridors especially once you start shooting and all that light starts reflecting off walls, the powder smoke etc.

Have you shot a few hundred rounds with the light on to see how durable it is? Even cheap Chinese crap will work just fine if it's just sitting there mounted without actual use.

Nope, not yet. That is the plan. Will plan on a follow up review.

Received mine, I'll add my input in a condensed write-up over on the Flashlight talk thread covering several models; the only points I would add to this are:

1. It ships with 2 standard CR123A batteries (but RCR123A rechargeables are available in 2 versions from Olight).
2. There is no onboard / quick charging - if you elect to use rechargeable, you have to remove the batteries for charging.
3. The only dislike I have is that you have to depress both the left and right switches of the unit simultaneously to activate the strobe function (no one-hand activation).
4. No remote pressure-switch available (Olight does market a pressure switch add-on for their single-cell lights, but not for the Valkyrie models)

Other than that, the 1200 lumen claim seems about right when compared to several of my other beams in the 900-1500 lumen range.
