Burying/Hiding some small amounts of ammo in a radius around the homestead?? Like most sensible people, I have a "go bag" with basics but it seems logical to have access to some additional ammo on the routes away from (or toward) your home in the event you have to leave, or are trying to make it back home.

This may be a beaten to death topic, but I can't remember it discussed on here.

Asking for a friend's neighbor.

Given the very minor cost of 20 rounds... it sure couldn't hurt.

Besides, with my memory, it could make for a fun day of metal detecting next spring.
Ha, exactly. I've devised a system, or at least come up with a type of landmark where I'd potentially stash tubes of .22lr/9mm/5.56. Then I'd only have to remember this unique landmark and look for them near the house.

Ab-so-freaking-lutely! I found some cheap waterproof small ish buckets once that could fit a Glock, a few loaded mags, couple water bottles, a knife and a MRE or two pretty easily and my neighbor said he considered burying one out in the woods or somewhere around the house. I still think it is a great idea.

I have an ammo box stashed with rounds a couple MREs and basic survival stuff. I am considering setting one up with a pistol as well.

Definitely not a bad idea if you have a dedicated route to and from work or to an alternate location of refuge.

You could just swing by my house and I’ll load up with ya if the SHTF. Jeep is ready. Told my wife to be ready and she says nah. I’ll hang here. Got plenty of food and guns. Lol

My wife says the same thing. Her parents live a mile down the road... "I'd just go there"

They have NO food, water, guns, tools there, but I do have all of that. But what do I know...
