I just traded for my first AR. It's probably not a good one since I don't know what I'm doing. Anyway I need stuff for it, so I was hoping that Vanguard was still around so that I could get some free parts and accessories.

Honestly the first thing you need is some irons and a few magazines.... After that... buy some ammo and shoot.

With an AR you can easily spend several hundred dollars on accessories. Shoot it first, then figure out what you think will make it better for you.

I do have magazines.

Yes I do need sights. Keeping the budget theme, who makes budget friendly sights that are decent quality and don't fall over from recoil?

Slap some sights or a red dot on that thing and enjoy it! I'm somewhat biased because I really like those rifles.

I've some credit on Amazon, so I'm looking at sights right now.

There are lots of opinions and it's largely based on what you like, but I'm a fan of the old carry handle. Also for cheap parts, check out Delta Team Tactical. Just beware of the airsoft junk they sell... I've ordered a Colt contract overrun barrel from them and a short AR9 handguard. So far, no issues. The parts all look good. But they also sell airsoft stuff.

Truth. What I like about Amazon is that most products have helpful feedback from buyers.
I've learned that you have to be careful about that too. There can be items that come from multiple sellers. Some of the reviews will be great, some counterfeit depending on who fulfilled that particular order. The reviews are for the item, not specific to any one seller.
